Easy Neck Stretch to Relieve Tension and Improve Mobility

If you’re experiencing neck tightness from sitting at a desk or looking down at your phone, this simple neck stretch can help release tension and improve flexibility.

How to Do the Neck Stretch

  1. Sit up straight in a comfortable chair with your shoulders relaxed.
  2. Tilt your head gently to one side, bringing your ear closer to your shoulder.
  3. Tuck your chin slightly, as if you’re nodding gently.
  4. Draw your shoulders down toward the floor to deepen the stretch.
  5. Hold the stretch for 20 to 30 seconds, breathing deeply.
  6. Repeat on the other side.

If one side of your neck feels tighter, you can repeat the stretch on that side a second time.

Benefits of the Neck Stretch

  • Helps relieve neck and shoulder tension
  • Improves posture and range of motion
  • Supports spinal alignment
  • Can help reduce headaches and muscle fatigue

This stretch is a great addition to your daily routine, especially if you spend long hours at a computer or in the same position. Aim to perform this neck stretch 1–2 times per day to maintain flexibility and comfort.
