As your shoulder begins to heal, incorporating active-assisted shoulder flexion is an essential step in restoring strength and mobility. This exercise helps bridge the gap between passive and fully active movement, especially after injury or surgery.

How to Perform Active-Assisted Shoulder Flexion
- Lie on your back (supine) with your knees bent for lower back support.
- Use your uninjured arm to gently assist your affected arm as you lift it overhead into flexion.
- Focus on smooth, pain-free movement within your comfortable range.
We typically recommend 10–20 repetitions, performed 2–5 times daily, depending on your pain levels and the stage of your recovery.
This simple yet effective movement promotes mobility, reduces stiffness, and prepares your shoulder for more advanced rehabilitation stages.
